This lecture introduce on Greek Theatre. Here briefly focus on Greek Gods; Antigone and Medea. Greece has thousands of inhabited islands and dramatic mountain ranges. Greece has a rich culture and history. Democracy was founded in Greece. Patriarchal (male dominated) society. Philosophy, as a practice, began in Greece (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle). The Greek theatre history began with festivals honoring their gods. A god, Dionysus, was honored with a festival called by “City Dionysia”.
