This article is focused on Overview of Road Transport System in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) manage several categories of road. RHD has total length of 20,948 Km road under its control. The principal motto of this Division is to ensure improvement of socio-economic condition of the people of our country through formulating policies regarding roads and road transport and through construction, development, expansion and maintenance of environment-friendly and user-friendly integrated roads transportation and the Bridges Division comprises one department which is Bangladesh Bridge Authority.
