Visual Sociology is a neighbourhood of social science involved with the visual dimensions of social life. This sub discipline is nurtured by the International Visual social science Association (IVSA), that holds annual conferences and publishes the journal, Visual Studies.Because of the interests of its founders, the IVSA tends to be anxious with photography and documentary film making at intervals a social science context.
