Adjusted Gross Income is a measure of income used to view how much of this income is taxable. Adjusted gross income (AGI) is worked out as your gross income from taxable places minus allowable discounts, such as unreimbursed enterprise expenses, medical expenses, alimony and allowable retirement plan contributions. For most personal tax purposes, AGI is more relevant than gross income.
