It is a broadly described annual report of Bangladesh Lamps Limited in the year of 2009. During the year under review, the net sale of the Company was Taka. 675.33 million, as compared to Taka. 537 97 million in 2008, which registered a growth of 14 38% over the previous year. During the year 2009n a total of 29.50 million GLS bulbs were produced, as against of 34 67 minion pieces of bulbs during the corresponding period of 2008. The total number of shareholders of the Company at 31st December 2009 was 2,940 as against 3,262 in the previous year. The price index of shares on that date stood at Taka. 1,849,25 per share at the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Taka.1,790,00 per share at the Chittagong Stock Exchange.
Keeping in view the satisfactory performance of the Company, the Board of Directors is pleased to recommend cash dividend of Taka. 35/- per share of Taka. 100/- each (i.e. 35%) for the year 2009. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk) which is the company’s functional currency.
