Organization of African Unity
Subject: International Business | Topics:

The Organization of African Unity (OUA) was established on May 1963 in Addis Ababa, with 32 participant governments. The OAU was, however, successful in some respects. Many of its members were members of the UN and they stood jointly within the latter association to preserve African interests – particularly in admiration of lingering colonialism. Its pursuit of African unity, therefore, was in some ways successful. The OAU also worked with the UN to ease immigrant crisis. It set up the African Development Bank for economic projects intended to make Africa financially stronger.
