The theory of constraints (TOC) is an overall management philosophy unveiled by Eliyahu M. Goldratt throughout his 1984 book entitled The Goal, that is geared to help organizations continually accomplish their goals. The theory of constraints is really a management paradigm that vistas any manageable system to be limited in achieving far more of its goals by a very small number of constraints. There is always a minimum of one constraint, and TOC works on the focusing process to discover the constraint and restructure all of those other organization around it.
