Sponsorship Definition
Subject: Marketing | Topics:

Sponsorship is a cash or in-kind fee paid into a property in return for access to exploitable commercial potential connected with that property, according to IEG. While the sponsoree could be nonprofit, unlike philanthropy, sponsorship is completed with the expectation of the commercial return. Even though sponsorship can produce increased awareness, brand building and propensity to purchase, it is totally different from advertising.
