Subject: Organizational Behavior | Topics:

Origin of the Report

This report is an internship report prepared as a requirement for the completion of the BBA program. The primary goal of the internship was to show the competitive advantages of DIIT in BBA program.

In this connection, at the completions of the BBA program, I was assigned to the DIIT, for practical orientation. I choose the topic “Competitive advantages of DIIT in BBA Program” for my internship report under the supervision of Md. Sharif Hossain, Lecturer (Accounting), Department of Business Administration, Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT).

Background

Every year thousands of students are completing their pre university (Higher Secondary Level) education in Bangladesh. But only a few hundreds of these students get the opportunity for public university levels of studies. Students have to cross hurdles of extremely competitive admission test where styles of questions are significantly different from what they do at pre-university level. Consequently they try to take support from Coaching Services to get admitted to the top quality public and private universities. The public universities are almost provided quality of the education to make their future life competitive in comparison to the level of the most private universities. Yet most of the private universities in Dhaka and Chittagong are getting good inflow of students mostly due to demand supply gap.

  Importance of the Study

Education is the best legacy a nation can give to her citizens especially the youth. This is because the development of any nation or community depends largely on the quality of education of such a nation. It is generally believed that the basis for any true development must commence with the development of human resources. Much then is said that formal education remains the vehicle for social-economic development and social mobilization in any society. The study will provide the opportunity to know about the socio economic background of students studying at private academic students as well factors contributing academic performance of the students. At a glance one can get an idea about the institution and also its performance in terms of achievements of the students. Not only this but also to know about their monthly expenditures, to know the reasons of getting involvement of some students in job, and their academic results that are influenced with this factor. Such knowledge will be important for development planning for academic development of the country and also to sociologist.

Objective of the Study

The general objective of this study is to examine the quality of the education that impact of the students’ future life. The survey assessed the current condition of the quality education and how can it will be easier for them to enjoy the study more. Therefore the main objective of this study is to find out the relationship between competitive advantage of DIIT students and other University with a number of variables like their origins, monthly expenses for educational purposes, involvement in job, class attendance, academic results etc. That is identifying the impact of these variables on their results or measuring the sensitivity of their quality education and way to improve quality education of this type of institution. It also explores the different facet of difficulties of the institution and their depravedness from their institute.

 Survey Methodology

The study was conducted using information from both primary and secondary sources of data. The primary data is collected through structured questionnaire based sampling of target population, the students of DIIT while the secondary relevant information is collected from different publications.

NUMBERS
Number of Respondent150

The major variables for this study are the information relating the quality education of the participating students, their academic attainments. These include some personal information of the students.

The different socioeconomic variables collected through sample studies are used as social attributes. The academic pursuit is determined by the class attendance of the students. The outcome, the academic performance is determined by CGPA of the students.

In addition to primary data analysis, the secondary sources of data are used to corroborate the findings used in above analysis. The secondary data is collected from website, journal, brochure, memorandum etc. The information about the overview of the institution is collected from their own website. There is information about the formation of Daffodil Institute of IT, the affiliation of NationalUniversity, starting its operation, rules and regulations are obtained.

Then the cost structure of total BBA program including their semester fee, tuition fee based on their academic backgrounds are collected from the brochure. The details about the total courses of whole BBA program were obtained from the brochure of the Institute. I have organized my report by the following way:

  • My report starts with a brief profile of DIIT.
  • The in the theoretical background portion, I have discussed about survey methodology and procedure to conduct the survey.
  • In my first analysis, I have tried to form an overall glimpse of a result which is found out in the report.
  • Then, I have determined the area of differences multiple comparison with different variable like result, occupation, monthly expenses etc.
  • Then, next part of my analysis, I have prepared competitive advantages of DIIT.
  • At the last part of my analysis, I have prepared findings list for the report.
  • Finally, I have presented some recommendations to improve the quality of education support for higher education.

Limitation of the Study

Under this study have some limitation which are given below:

1.            Lack of sophisticated Knowledge: As a student in research field, I have no experience in data collection, processing, analyzing, interpreting and presenting.

2.            Time lacks: There have no available time on my hand to properly complete this study program. So I cannot able to conduct with all function within available time.

3.            Unavailability and inefficiency to interpret secondary data: From the secondary sources I have not get available relevant data. Moreover, I have no proper knowledge that to collect secondary data.

4.            Every Company has some common strategy of secrecy: They didn’t want to provide available data, information, which are harmful for them. So I didn’t get sometimes essential data.

5.            The employees were always busy on their tremendous workload. So they couldn’t extend their cooperation properly.

6.            Finally 2 month is too short to know about the whole Education system.

Research Design

In this part of the report I will discuss about my way of data collection, designing of the questionnaire, sampling, data processing and my overall research design. The basic research design is mainly based on questionnaire study research method. My research design roams around.

Variables to be covered

Here to identify the impact on the academic results of the students several elements or variables are considered like, their involvement in job, their monthly expense etc. It was found that students are interested mainly to obtain BBA degree as this is very demanding now-a-days in job market. The students who do not get chance in public university are usually involved in private university if they could afford. Among them the students who are interested to obtain BBA degree are involved in these types of institution. This whole program is running under NationalUniversity. It is expensive compared to other college but less expensive compared to other private universities. As it is usually expected that the students that are getting advantage or benefit from different elements are supposed to show better performance compare to others who are do not getting such types of benefits.

The basic sources of income of the students are asked to know that whether they get money from their family sources or any type of job. And also the types of jobs are asked to know whether they have involved in part time job or full time job or private tuition. It is expected that the students are not involving in any job are having better results. Because they are spending more times to their study which is not managed by the students that are involving in any job.

The time of involvement in jobs of the students are asked. Whether it is first year or second year or third year or forth year that they’ve involved in job is identified. Their amount of monthly salary is asked to know the level of income that they are belonging. The students who are involving in job latter are expected to have better performance than others who have joined in previous years. Early involvement means they are giving less time to study than general expectation.

One of the major demographic characteristics is representation of residence. People having strong financial and social background live in posh areas. Again people with weak financial position and social status in general live in relatively ordinary residential areas. Accordingly the residential areas were primarily clustered into 16 broader areas namely Old Part of Dhaka, Mogh Bazar area, Malibagh area, Mirpur area, Dhanmondi area, Baridhara area, Mohammadpur area, Gulshan area, Basundhara area, Banani Area, Uttara area, Nikunja Area, Savar area Amin Bazar area and Outside of Dhaka City. After this broad classifications of area, these were further categorized Posh are including Dhanmondi, Banani, Gulshan and Baridhara. Then it is categorized into higher middle class area like moghbazar, Uttara, BashunDhara, Nikunja area. After that it is categorized as lower middle class area like Mirpur, Mohammadpur, and Malibag area. At last it is categorized as the backward place of area of Dhaka city like Savar, Amin Bazar and old part of Dhaka city. As it is usually seen that students are living in posh area are reluctant to concentrate more to study. On the other hand it is seen that the students are living in backward area are having better performance because they want to establish with their own accord.

Here the students are differentiated coming from Dhaka city and from outside. Then the places are identified where their families are living that is whether they live in Dhaka city or outside of Dhaka city or any metropolitan area or from villages. The students who come Dhaka city are expected to have better academic performance than those coming from outside of Dhaka city.

Sources of data

Data is collected from primary sources and secondary sources. For getting information from primary sources direct interview, conversations are used. To get a primary idea about the students’ direct interview was taken from the Document Officer Mehedi Hasan. He has given an idea about the students living in Dhaka and came outside from Dhaka. He told that about 40 percent students are outsiders. Many of them are living in their relatives’ home. Others are living along with their friends in rental house or hostel. He also said that most of the students are involved in job that came from outsides.  Some of them are bearing their expense of their own that is involving any part time job or private tuitions. In that case it was not possible for part timers to maintain more than 85% attendance. On the other hand the students who are involved in private tuitions can maintain their attendance more than 85% attendance. Then questionnaire is used to collect information from the students asking the questions of their origin, location of their living, occupation of their guardians, living place in Dhaka city of the outsider students, their daily expenses, monthly expenses from educational purposes, their class attendance, involvement in job, time of involvement in job, etc. are asked to compare with their academic background.

For getting information from secondary sources different types of documents are used like their result sheet, brochures, cost structure schedule, memorandum and web information. The details about the total courses of whole BBA program were obtained from the brochure.

From the journals and memorandums the information of expansion of DIIT’s wing in IT sector, achieving the affiliation of NCC Education UK, starting its program of CAT/ ACCA, achieving different types of awards are also collected.

Several variables related information is collected from web search at Google like the elements that are supposed to have impact on their academic performance and about their outcomes.

So priority is given more to information that could be collected from primary sources.

Data collection methods

The methods that are used primarily to obtain the most relievable and reliable information will be personal interview and questionnaire. The personal interview has taken from their admin officer to know about the students interests to the reasons to continue their BBA program in this institution. From direct interview it was found that students are interested mainly to obtain BBA degree as this is very demanding now-a-days in job market. The students who do not get chance in public university are usually involved in private university if they could afford. On the other hand, who do not have the capability to get quality education in private university? Among them the students who are capable to obtain BBA degree are involved in these types of institution.

And the questionnaire is used to collect fundamental information of their backgrounds including their results, family background and their socio-economic position. It covers the place from where they came, their living place in Dhaka city. That is whether they are living in their relatives’ home or any rental house with their friends or in hostel and asked their academic results, their attendance and their job types to relate of their performance.

Designing of the questionnaire

The questionnaires are structured and undisguised. Both dichotomous questions and open-ended questions are embedded in questionnaire. Some answers are related with rating scale. Tabulation of answer was not needed. There is an open ended question. Some question has answered in ranking basis. Most of the questions are optional.

Sampling

To determine the relationship among the various financial variables five different institutions was used. While determining the loopholes of the different institutions for the comparative study I have used conveyance sampling method. Because of the high volume of data that was needed for the analysis, I have done that. I was not concerned about the size of the sample because of lower possibility of sampling error.

Data analysis

While analyzing the different academic variables with other variables used very simple Microsoft excel and different graph and charts and tables. Moreover, as success and failure are basically qualitative data for proper analysis.

Limitations of the study

  • 150 respondents’ data was analyzed to determine the relationship among various academic variables. But as these respondents’ belong to DIIT, ISTT, DCC, and BUBT and EWU. This analysis holds true exactly for DIIT, ISTT, DCC, and BUBT and EWU .Perhaps it is needed to be fine tuned in case of implementation in other institute respondents.
  • Vague and distort information may be obtained while conducting the question and answer session with authorities. These can have impact on the quality of my recommendations.
  • To find out various academic conditions of students sometimes they are reluctant to give their academic data.
  • Time delegate by the department is not enough to deliver a report.
  • As an intern student it is not always possible to access all of the confidential information.

Competitive advantages of DIIT: Findings from Sample Survey

This chapter presents the general results of the sample survey conducted. The following discussions will reveal the general characteristics of the sample students.

 Age Level of the respondents:

Total respondents of my survey is 150 and in this statistics 134 students are in the range of 18-22 years,15students are including 23-27 years and the remaining 1 is 27-30 years. Among the all students I get only one students of age level 27-30 years. Large amount of respondent from DIIT and from 90 students 88 students are 18-22 and 2 students are 23-27years. Private university like BUBT and EWU 41 from 18-22 and 9 from 23-27.Other institution like ISTT and DhakaCityCollege has 2, 7 and 1 respectively.

Gender

 Capture

In this graph we see that respondent of our questionnaire 28% i.e. 42 are female and 72%i.e 108 are male students.

We also see the different position of male and female respondent in the different institutions.BBA is a specialized program in the modern days. And it is encouraging that many female learners have joined this program. And the ratio is more enthusiastically if we look into private Universities.

In my report I want to focus on the financial support of the students. What is the source of their finance? So my question is, are they self financed or dependent on others. Most of the students are dependent on others that mean they finance their tuition fees from their guardians’ earnings. Amount of the students whose are dependent on their guardians’ is135 among 150 students and only 15 students are self financed. So it shows that the students where their age is more than 18 and they are adult but they are not capable to support their own academic expenses. And the large family who consist more member it is difficult for them to support their sons and daughters.

Distribution of the students in Different Areas of Dhaka City

The students that came from different areas of Dhaka city are given below:

Among the students of Dhaka city, it was found that the maximum portions of the students are living in Mirpur area. That is about 21.74 percent are living in Mirpur. 17.39 percent are living in mohammadpur area. 21.74 percent are living in old part of Dhaka that covers Jatrabari, Demra areas.

Different Occupations of Guardians of the Students

After completion of surveying of the students are involving in job, second survey are made on the students are not involving in job. It is done to identify their various matters that can create any impact on their academic performance. Here the occupations of the guardians are identified as the business man, Govt. service holder, and private employee, retired and dead. Among the occupations 34 percents guardians are businessmen, 20 percents are govt. service holders and 9 percents retired, 17 percent of them are private employee and 0 percent of them are dead. 20 percents of them are involved with other job like politics, lawyers, doctors and others. If we comparison between the professions we also see that more than one third of 150 students are coming from business family because they think their prospective condition. Govt. office employees also send their children institute like DIIT. Because its expense is more reasonable than PrivateUniversity. Others profession also send their child in cost effective institution like DIIT get 27 students out of 31 in it’s

To get some decision about financial support for higher studies it is important to know the income level should be defined. In my questionnaire I want to know the income level of the guardians in yearly basis. In our country the per capita income is $590(Tk. 41300). BBA degree from pvt. Institute is not always reasonable for students as well as guardians.

we see that 49%of the total respondent are earn money above tk. 100000 it is very expected to us because the tuition fees of the course is high.15% earn tk. 76000-100000 and 51000-75000 is 10%.so  74% of respondents earn tk. More than 50000. In the pvt. Universities which tuition fees are comparatively high in this case their earning is also high and they expense more to get their degree. On the other hand DIIT get all categories i.e. like tk. 30000 above to tk. 100000 above.

Residence is one of the basic needs of human. And residence cost is very in our capital. Most of the students reside near their institute. In the graph and table we see simultaneously 45% of the total students abide with their own house. So it is helpful for them to bear their expenses of their institute because house rent is too much high in capital now a day. With a higher house rent cost 34% students live in rented house. Some students who has not enough money to rent a house they reside their relative house or in a hostel. And this percentage is 12% and 9% respectively. In case of private university more than 50% students reside their own house. Its give them more independent to spend more their education.

Of the total students Daffodil Institute of IT 47 percent came from outside of Dhaka. Major portion of them are continuing their study living in their relatives home. Some of them are living in the commercial mess whereas others are living along with their friends in rental home. Maximum portion of the students came from the village and maximum portion of the occupation of guardian is business. Others families are living in metropolitan city, or district town out side of Dhaka.

In my report I want focus on the financial support for higher studies so in here it is noteworthy to mention that residential place and occupation are correlated. In our country like stay in the capital is expensive. Now I defined one variable to explain other variable like-

Hostel:

a very few students reside in hostel among 150 students. But in public institute it is very common phenomenon to stay in the hostel. In my study 14 students live in the hostel and 11 students are the children of the Business and govt. official.

Rented House:

One third of the students reside in rented house. Most of the cases it is near to their educational institute.  Business men are the main customer of the rented house. Then the other profession related person like 14 students among 52 students reside in rented house.

Relative Residence:

Those students who has no place to live in that case they live their relative house. Only 21 students reside their relative house. In most of the cases they are the outsiders of Dhaka city.

Parent’s house:

Parent’s house means their own living place also. So in this category they are relief from their house rent expenses. Business man and govt. official are the mainly owner of their houses.68 respondent from 150 respondent s are the owner of their house.

The proportion of the students that came from different are outside of Dhaka are shown below:

From the graph we see that about 67 percent of the students came from village. 22 percent came from district town outside of Dhaka and rests of 11 percent came from metropolitan city.

From the table  we found that out of 150 students’ 52 students get above 3.533students achieved above 3.25and 32 students got 3.00 and 2.50 above. We can get a view off the result of different higher educational institute we can say the result is not bad at all. But the result of DIIT is not satisfactory like others institute, 26 students from 90 students get only 3.5 or above 3.5.it is less than 30% but the percentage of others institute and pvt. Univ. is comparatively better than DIIT. If we see the last column we see that above 2.5 to 3.00is 29 students it is almost 30% of the total students. Behind this poor result, I found some reasons in my survey. These ares-

  •      Some students has already involved with part or fulltime job.
  •      Students gave up their institute if the institute does not give permission to apply in the final exam.
  •      Lack of permanent faculties.
  •      Final question is prepared by the other teachers.
  •      Final exam sheet is evaluated by other teachers.

We also compare this result in the light of financial source of the students. That is divided in two categories like – self finance and dependent on others. In the total scenario we can reach the decision those students are self finance are higher grade achiever than who are dependent on others.

Self Finance:

25 students are self financed and 31 students are dependent. In the highest result categories we find that the students in these categories are get more to spend on their study.  But in the average result like 3.25 and 3.00 self financed students raise their flag again. In the lowest level like above 2.50 categories there are no self dependent students. I think they are more conscious about their result.

Dependent on Others:

These students get highest score in compare with self financed. Here we find out those students do not involve with any job they get more time to prepare their lessons. But if we see the other results like 3.25, 3.00 and 2.50 range they could not achieve satisfactory result (Shown in the graph).

In this graph I analysis with two variables – Occupations (Business, Govt. Office, Private Service, Retired and others) and Result (3.50, 3.25, 3.00 and 2.50 etc.). In my study I found that the result of business personnel is better than any other professionals. Other professionals’ siblings are acquired medium result. The students in this range achieved 3.25 and 3.00. The result is not good incase of retired persons. If we evaluate in percentage than the result of the retired person is not bad because almost 55% achieved 3.50 only 15% get lowest mark. It can be happen because of the retired person give more time to spend towards their children. On the other hand others profession like lawyer, politician, doctor and artisans are extreme in nature. There is a combination of good and lowest level result. In the categories of govt. officer is absolutely reverse than other professionals.

The comparison of results of the students involving in private tuition and part time job is given below:

student

From the graph we see that the average GPA of the students involving in private tuition is comparatively better than the results of the students are involving in part time job. Though the part timer students spend more on educational purposes, but they are not performing like the students are involving in private tuition. The basic behind is that they have attendance less than 50 percent

Another significant variable is job involvement. Are the students involve with job or not. Involving with job give them freedom to take good degree and decision making. It also gives them financial support to provide their tuition fees. In my survey, I found that 51 students from 150 students are involve with job .And we also include tuition providing service to others. We can assume that those students who are involve with tuition or job. In some cases these students are self dependent and the remaining students that means they are dependent on others. In case of private university relating to job involvement is higher than the DIIT and other institute. 40% students of private university and 40% students of CityCollege and ISTT involve with job. On the other hand 27% students of DIIT involve with job.

In Bangladesh, it is not an optimistic situation for us, the students which age is more than 20 years in most of the cases they cannot afford their expenses. So it creates huge burden towards parents to continue their education. Some social taboo is the main constraints to improve the situation. If it is possible for the respective organization to build some sector to help their students financially.

Expense comparison with or without job involvement:

It is quite related with job involvement and expenses with month or year. The common concept in this case is that those students involve with job expense more money rather than no job involvement but in my survey I found that it is contradictory with our notion because of the students no job involvement expense almost similar with job involvement.

Below Tk. 3000: Almost 50% students stay in this range. And it is very identical to see that from 71 students in this range 32 students Involve in Job and 39 students NO Job Involvement. So it does not show any significance in this time.

Tk.3001-5000: The result is going to reverse in this slab. When the expense is increasing the job involvement number is s not increasing. It is 10 and 33 from 43 respectively.

Tk.5001-7500: The finding is nearly similar in nature. But the numbers who spend more is increasing and surprisingly they have no job attachment.

Above Tk. 7500: It is the highest range of expense and almost 40% of 13 students are involved with job.

Expenses in one month

In my study I shall try to find out the expense behavior of the different institution students. In this stage I asked them to state their monthly expenses. It is differed in various institutes but it gives an interesting result like most of the students i.e. 50% of the students spend below tk. 3000. It is almost same in other institutes. But the second slab is tk.3001-5000 it carries more than 30% and the rest of the 21 and 13 from 150 students respectively.

It is very common notion about that expenses like pocket money or that money which is spend by the students, if it is very high than it is harmful for the students. So it is relevant to me to find out the real condition.

I also compare these expenses with result, that is, is expenses behavior keep any impact on result?

In here we see the result comparison chart, it shows the two variable comparisons one is- expenses and the other one is significantly result.

We divide result in four categories like –

Above 3.5

We categories expense in four slabs also like-

Below Tk. 3000

Tk.3001-5000

Tk.5001-7500

Above Tk. 7500

The public notion about expense and result is true in my study 72 students from 150 students i.e. Almost 50% of the students spend below tk. 3000 and their result is above 3.50. In the slab of tk. 3001-5000 it is 43 students belong it and the result of this students is 3.25 .22 students spend tk.5001-7500 and above tk. 7500 is 13. We can say that the students are not too much aggressive to spend their money. Its good sign for the society the good score achiever are thriftier than not satisfactory score holder.

Facilities are provided by institute:

In my questionnaire I asked them what type of facilities are they enjoy from their respective institute. I mentioned three facilities in my questionnaire and asked them to rank it chronologically, like the most enjoyable facility 3, the 2 and 1. Those facilities I mentioned in my questionnaire are-

  •   Air conditioned class room.
  •   Well equipped internet connection computer lab.
  •   Expert and efficient faculty members.

In the graph and table we see that the students most emphasized on their faculty members. Because they if the teachers are qulified and efficient then they will get quality education and they scored it highest all of the institute. And the surprisingly the score is 292. Some one give only one fcility and that is their teacher. Pvt. Univ. students enjoy more faculty facilities like they got permanent faculty for them on the other side the institute  teacher willnot permanent in nature.

Air conditioned Classroom:

one of the major portion think that air conditioned classroom is one f the major facility. And in every case we find the institution provide them air conditioned room. But its regret sometimes the a/c will not be wellconditioned. Beside this it will get second highest score that is  228.

Internet Facilitated Lab:

It is another important tool now a days. Students cannot think a single day without using it. They use it for various purposes like to get access iin on line library, faculty guidelines and as a entertainment box. So,it scored 168.

Problems faced by the students

After  completing the facilities I said them  to answer what type of problems they have already faced in their institute. Again I scored them in the previos method like rank it consecutively. And the major problems are given below-

  1.      Lack of library facilities.
  2.      Tuition fees are high/ medium /low.
  3.      Institute premises is adequate- Yes/No

Ther are another complementery question like do they think there tution fees is high, medium or low.and another question is are their premises is adequate or not.Now I describe what their response acxcording to my question.

Tuition Fees:

Most of the students ranked no.1 this problemand it scored 290. I have mentioned already another complementary question about their fees is high ,medium or low. My findings is-

From 150 students 90 students respondent about this matter among the 90 students 57 i.e.63% students think the tuition is high and 37% i.e. 33 students think tuition fees is medium but I could not find outanyone who thinks the tuition fees is lower . Sometimes they asked about it their tuition fee is not well justified.

Library Problems:

Library is one of the major concern for higher education. It is the level where different types of research and development is going on. But those institute cannot provide enough quantity of books and jpurnals for their students. And it als scored more than 200 and it is 220. DIIT has a good number books  in the premises of DaffodilInernationalUniversity. But its position is nit convenient for the students that’s why it is not lucrative for the DIIT students.

Campus premises:

Most of the pvt, educational institute start from rental house.Sometimes it is business concern. So it is not possible for the to provide adequqte space for their students. In some case this space cretes problems among the students and different batches. And the campus problem scored 191.

Facilities wanted by the students:

There are some prequisite to establish  a campus for higher studies. As per my queary I questioned them about what type of facilities they want their institute. These are-

  1.      Adequate premises facilities.
  2.      Large number of books, journals and periodicals are needed for the library.
  3.      Tuition fees should be rational and comprtitve.
  4.      Scholarship and stipend facilities will be commenced.
  5.      Modern amenities for classes like multimedia projector.
  6.      Expert and efficient faculty members.
  7.      Mainten commitment by the authorities.
  8.      Organise more cultural programme.
  9.      Trasportation facilities canbe provide by the authorities or low cost transport facilities.
  10.      Practice oriented assignment, term paper and articles can be provided by the teachers.
  11.      Job engagement after completing the graduation
  12.      Common room for female students as well as inadequate wash room.
  13.      There should be a subsidized canteen facilities.
  14.      Uninterrupted power supply in every class room.
  15.      Well equiped and High speed broad band internet fcilities.
  16.      Someone argue sbout elevator in their campus.
  17.      Good interpersonal communication w ith teachers.

Scope of National University to improve the situation:

In my study I covered three educational institute and college which provide degree under National University on the other hand there are other two private university controlled by the UGC. The entire respondent did not answer this question only 11 students are indifferent in nature to answer this question. Out of 15o student 107 students think the regulatory authority has to do something for their educational instate. 32 students think the regulatory body has nothing to do to solve their problem.

Under national university institute and college, that faces some problem like-

  1.      Publication of result is prime concern for the students of institute.
  2.      They take their degree under a university but the final question paper is done by different teacher and exam sheet evaluated by another teacher. So it is difficult for the students to prepare for their exam.
  3.      NationalUniversity also published a syllabus for their affiliated institute . But the syllabus is huge in some how. In some cases well trained teacher cannot be found to complete the syllabus.
  4.      NationalUniversity can regulate the tuition fees for their students. And fix up the tuition fees for higher studies.
  5.      NU can take commitment from the owner of the institute in which time period they will shift their rented campus.
  6.      NU can give some scholarship to their students to continue their study.
  7.      Student exchange program can be doe by the NationalUniversity.
  8.      It has a good number of teachers, it can send them to the institute to monitor, evaluate and trained the teachers.

Findings

  •      Lack of library facilities.
  •      Tuition fees are low than others private universities.
  •      Institute premises is not  adequate
  •      Modern amenities for classes like multimedia projector.
  •      Mainten commitment by the authorities.
  •      Organise more cultural programme.
  •      Lack of available Trasportation facilities
  •      Job engagement after completing the graduation
  •      Lack of  canteen facilities.
  •      Uninterrupted power supply in every class room.
  •      Well equiped and High speed broad band internet fcilities.

  •      Publication of result is prime concern for the students of institute.
  •      They take their degree under a university but the final question paper is done by different teacher and exam sheet evaluated by another teacher. So it is difficult for the students to prepare for their exam.
  •      NationalUniversity also published a syllabus for their affiliated institute . But the syllabus is huge in some how. In some cases well trained teacher cannot be found to complete the syllabus.
  •      Lack of scholarship facilities for poor and meritorious students .

Recommendations

In my study the prime focus is financial support for higher studies on the basis of DIIT. To find out the financial support for the students in the context of DIIT. There are various interdependent and interrelated parties are included in this part. The primary parties are –

  • Students guardian and
  • Institute authority.

The secondary parties’ are-

  • National university authority
  • Education ministry.
  • Non govt. organization.
  • Research Institutes.

According these two segments I want to recommend some suggestions which I found my study. These areas-

  •       Tuition fees should be finalized in accordance with condition of the socio economic perspective of the country’s population. It also should be rational and comprtitve
  •       Scholarship and stipend can be widely introduced by the institute authority and outsiders.
  •       Student loan facilities can be introduced by the financial institution.
  •       In this study my findings is that the direct impact goes to their parents. So the burden of the parents can be shifted if the student can engaged themselves with any type of earnings.
  •       Students reduce their expenses to spend their money in effective way.
  •       Institute premises are important for the higher educational learners. Inadequate space for the classroom is one of major concern for the students so spacious and airy classroom for the institute. So it can be situated outside the city. It reduces the cost of rent.
  •       Scholarships can be commenced on the basis of merit and need based.
  •       Teaching assistantship and other works which is related with institute can be offered to the students. This is helpful for them to finance their study.
  •       Student loan can be provided by the Bangladesh Bank with a very lower interest rate.
  •       Low fare cost transportation for the students.
  •       A good number of books, journals and periodicals for the library.
  •       Students can work their own campus canteen like overseas countries.
  •       In some case the reading materials can be provided by the institute which helps them to save their money for other purposes.
  •       State of art technology based lab and high speed internet can provide for higher education. Modern amenities for classes like multimedia projector.
  •       Infrastructure problem is one of the major issue for DIIT so it should be relieved as early as possible.
  •       It has a good number of teachers, it can send them to the institute to monitor, evaluate and trained the teachers.
  •       Mainten commitment by the authorities.
  •       Trasportation facilities canbe provide by the authorities or low cost transport facilities.
  •       Practice oriented assignment, term paper and articles can be provided by the teachers.
  •       Job engagement after completing the graduation.
  •       Common room for female students as well as inadequate wash room.
  •       Uninterrupted power supply in every class room.
  •       Well equiped and High speed broad band internet fcilities.
  •       NationalUniversity can regulate the tuition fees for their students. And fix up the tuition fees for higher studies.
  •       NU can take commitment from the owner of the institute in which time period they will shift their rented campus.
  •       NU can give some scholarship to their students to continue their study.
  •       Student exchange program can be done by the NationalUniversity.

Conclusion

Education is one of the basic needs of our life. as a basic right of human  it is the duty of the government to reach education towards extreme poor to rich everyone. In higher education the institutional support given by the government is not enough. So private educational institute come forward to soothe this problem. Most of the cases in higher education they come forward with business motive. And that creates the problem because these institute charge extreme tuition fees.

It is difficult for the students and their guardian to bear this expense my study search to reach the decision how the financial support comes and how can it will be more relevant  or rationalistic for the students. To find out the financial support for higher studies in pvt. Institute is extensive and comprehensive tusk to reach concrete decision. In my study multifaceted research can be done future and reach more sophisticated decision.

It is an intern report best of my knowledge I tried to my best to give a fare report. But   error can be find out but do not think it is intentional. And reuse this for future research to this hope.
