Executive Summary

Partex Group is committed to the prosperity of Bangladesh. This enterprises play a positive role in alleviating poverty and generating employment an important objective of our country. Partex is a free market economy, where private sector plays a key role in establishing an industrial base. . It has also stepped into the IT sector and eagerly anticipates further expansion of its product and service portfolio to make a sizable contribution to the national economy. It believe in new ideas and technology which the road to the future.

1. Brief Introduction of the Topic/Study

 1.1 Title of the study

In an organization there are many departments. Those are Marketing department, HRM department, accounting department, Human Resource Management and so on. Each department does different types of duties and responsibilities. Marketing means acquiring and retaining customers for products and services by delivering customer value. The marketing departments constantly track consumers, monitor the environment, and keep an eye on competition. HRM department means, personnel management, employee relations, organizational behavior and public policy are all brought together in this department. The Accounting Department’s of partex mission is to create debate and disseminate knowledge about the measurement and communication of financial and non-financial information among the organization.

1.2 Profile of the Organization or Business Establishment

The history of Partex Group is no different. It had its modest beginnings in the tobacco trade in 1959. Under the cautious stewardship of its Founder. Chairman Mr. M. A. Hashem it has grown steadily over the years to become one of the leading industrial conglomerates in the country. In the early seventies, M/S Hashem Corporation Ltd. was established with headquarters in the port-city of Chittagong.

At a time when a newly independent country needed almost everything, the company involved itself in the import of essentials items like iron, steel, cement, sugar, rice, spices, wheat, salt, milk and other commodities. Today they supply and preserve tobacco, food, water, soft drinks, steel, container, edible oil, wooden board, furniture, cotton yarn etc.

A skilled work force and arranged board trustees lead by this group and backed by a market oriented corporate strategy has been the cornerstone of its success. They have a dynamic organization always give new ideas and concepts to expand the company’s popularity.

1.3 Rationale of the study

Every organization has many departments. Those are not 100% working perfectly. Besides this we select three departments of Partex group. Those are HRM department, Marketing department and Accounting department. We try to find out the real scenario of those departments. This will help us to know the exact situation of those departments. Because when we enter the job market this research support us to know what types of problems an organization face. We can provide our opinion to them. Not only in organizations but also any other institutions may be some problems about those departments. Our analysis and findings help them to recover themselves as early as possible. We give our full effort to make this report.

02. Statement of the problems

What is the problem? This should explain why the team is needed.

Who has the problem or who is the client/customer? This should explain who needs the solution and who will decide the problem has been solved.

What form can the resolution be? What is the scope and limitations (in time, money, resources, and technologies) that can be used to solve the problem?

03. Scope and Delimitation of the study

There are many offices of partex group in Dhaka city. It is not possible us to visit all those offices because of time duration or time frame. Another thing, some locations are far from Dhaka city. We are unable to collect information from those offices. In an organization there are different types of employees. They all are not equal cooperative. Some provide us information freely, a few does not give us information properly. If we ask them questions they said that, if they answer those questions it is scaling over the code of conduct. But those are very simple questions. Actually they show us that they are so busy with their works. When I told them my uncle is the GM of Partex. Then they told us why you did not tell me before. By using reference we collected information.

04. Objectives of the Study

4.1 Broad Objective

Partex is one of the largest manufacturing companies in our country. But their business strategy has some problems. If they want to solve those department based problem they should increase training and development program and look after their motivational tools.

4.2 Specific objectives

Marketing Department

Marketing department related with promotional activities such as advertisements, TV ads, leaflet, billboard, brand ambassador etc.

  • Don’t promote their products like other competitors
  • Marketing strategy is not specific.
  • Don’t power to dominate the market except two or three products.

Accounting Department

The department in a company which deals with money paid, received, borrowed, or owed. This section of the report reviews the financial management functions in Tyler ISD (TISD), and contains four major subsections:

HR Department

The HR Department is responsible for managing the day-to-day implementation of the district’s human resources policies, procedures and practices.

05. Methodology of the study

In our report we try to collect information from various sources. We go through primary data sources, secondary data sources, case study, observation, use of questionnaire, statistical application. Internet gives us a great support to find the actual meaning and definition of the specific topic. We also go through magazines, journals, archives of newspaper etc.

06. Findings of Study

  1. They are selling the products to only to the consumer market. They can sell their product in the business market such as dealing with Real Estate Company’s so that their market share gets increase.
  2.  They can add the augments of their products such as warranty, installments also helpline number.
  3. Their customer loyalty is not high. Their customer loyalty can be increase by giving them discount cards while purchasing other items of the company.
  4. They take low promotional activities. As a result their sales are stable. They may increase their selling effort by increase in advertising or change in advertising form. They are only advertising in the paper. They can go for electric marketing or by mailing.
