Behavioral Ecology
Subject: Biology | Topics:

The value of a social behavior depends to some extent on the social behavior of an animal’s neighbors. By example, the more likely a rival male is usually to back down from the threat, the more value a male gets away from making the danger. Behavioral ecology is the study of evolutionary basis with regard to animal behavior caused by ecological pressures.┬áBehavioral evolution is therefore influenced by both the physical environment and interactions between other individuals.
