External Structure of Plants

Principle objective of this lecture is to present on External Structure of the Plant; here briefly focus on Parts of the plant on the outside. This lecture broadly present types of Root Systems; functions of the Root System and Specialized Root Systems. Types of Root System: Looks like a tangled mass of roots. Examples of plants With this root  system are Banana, Coconut, Rice, Corn, Sugar Cane etc. Aerial  Roots: Plant attaches itself to tree branch or telephone wire; Roots hang down in midair and absorb water from rainfall. Examples: Wild Pine and Some Orchids.
