Psychiatric Genetics

Psychiatric genetics is a somewhat new name for an old question, “Are behavioral as well as psychological conditions and deviations inherited” The objective of psychiatric genetics is usually to better understand the actual etiology of psychiatric problems, to use that knowledge to improve treatment methods, and possibly also to develop personalized treatments dependant on genetic profiles. In other words, the goal is usually to transform parts of psychiatry right into a neuroscience-based discipline.
