Prime purpose of this lecture is to present on Naming Compounds: cations and anions. The process of naming compounds is just a set of rules. This lecture going to show you some of the basics. There are some advanced ways of naming things describes with Cations and Anions. Ionic compounds are formed when a metal gives up its electrons to a non-metal. Basically if the compound contains a metal, it is ionic. But there are different sets of rules for transition metals.
