Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), commonly known as coronary angioplasty or just angioplasty, is a nonsurgical procedure utilized to treat the stenotic coronary arteries from the heart found in cardiovascular system disease. These stenotic segments are a result of the buildup of the cholesterol stuffed plaques that form as a result of atherosclerosis.
