Embezzlement is an act of dishonestly withholding assets for the purpose of conversion of such assets, by one or more persons to whom the assets were entrusted, either to be held or to be used for specific purposes. Embezzlement is a felony crime that means theft money from a business or public office. One of the causes that it is such a severe crime is that the people who commend it are assumed to have been in a position of trust with the victim.
