Social Inequality

Social inequality is the existence of unequal opportunities and rewards for different social positions or statuses within a group or community. Social inequality happens when resources in a given society are distributed unevenly, normally through norms regarding allocation, that engender distinct patterns along traces of socially defined types of persons. Economic inequality, usually described judging by the unequal supply of income as well as wealth, is a frequently studied form of social inequality.
