It is a broadly described annual report of Steel Authority of India Limited in the year of 2005-2006. During the financial year, Total assets of the Company stood at Rs. 18383.49 Crore. During the year ended 31st March 2006, The Company has recorded sales turnover of Rs. 32,280 Crore during the year compared to Rs. 31,805 Crore in the previous year. The Company posted the profit before tax was Rs. 5,706 Crore for the year 2005-06 as compared to Rs. 9,365 Crore in the previous year. The Board of Directors of the Company has recommended a final dividend @7.5% subject to the approval of Shareholders, thus making the total dividend @20% of paid up equity capital for the year 2005-06.
