How One Founder Pivoted a Startup Designed for in-Person Interaction in Light of the Pandemic?

When Ashley Sumner designed and launched Quilt, it was meant to be a response to digital social networking, preferring to create authentic in-personal interactions between those who had never known each other before. The app will meet members for personal conversations and informal interviews in their own homes – but with the advent of the Covid-19, the basics of the model have clearly changed. After initially trying zoom-driven virtual video metups as an alternative, Quilt decided to create an audio platform instead that provides real-time conversations that are the focal point of wellness.

It may sound like it’s pretty much in vogue with other audio networking startups, but like Buji’s Clubhouse or many of its competitors, Quilt has carefully created a different kind of community thanks to patience and purpose. Ashley spoke with Find this week about bringing that big change to us, as well as keeping Quelt intact from the start. He also told us all about his own approach to being one of our founders and leaders, which is both unique and refreshing.

We loved our time chatting with Ashley and we hope you enjoy listening to the episode. And of course, we’d love it if you could subscribe to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, or the Podcast app of your choice if.
