Container Security Initiative

This Container Security Initiative (CSI) premiered in 2002 with the U. S. Bureau of Customs and also Border Protection (CBP), an agency of the Office of Homeland Protection. Its purpose was to enhance security for pot cargo shipped to the USA. As the CBP applies it, the intent is always to “extend zone involving security outward to ensure American borders are the last line involving defense, not the first.”
