Probability Chain Network in Business Communication

A probability network is an informational network where each of the individuals randomly tells others the same message. Under this communication pattern, the information passes randomly from persons to persons. The probability chain is a random process in which someone transmits the information to others in accordance with the laws of probability and then these others pass the information in a similar way. The source of information for each person hearing the message is different. It is similar to the gossip pattern, but here, it is not necessary that everyone is involved in the communication.

In Probability Chain Network communication each individual randomly tells another individual the same message. Here, the source of information for each member of the network is different.

Such as, there is an individual who acts as a source of message selects any person randomly in his network to communicate the message. The listeners are a selected few only. That second person will again, select another person randomly and passes on the message to him, likewise, the communication flows to different people chosen randomly. In some other condition, a person communicates information without any constraint to all those with whom he comes into contact. Here, the source of information for each member of the network is different. This is termed as Probability Chain and the message or information passed on may be interesting but not essential. This communication pattern is used when the information is interesting, but not significant.

In a probability network, an individual communicates with other individuals at random.
