Wecasa Raises $17.7 Million for its Home Care and Wellness Marketplace

French startup Vecasa has raised a $17.7 million fund (€15 million). Bliss is partnering with existing investors Serena, ISAI, and Frederick Mazella. The company is creating a marketplace for home care and wellness. Over the past few years, Vecasa has been adding new verticals. The startup is primarily specialized in hairdressing at home then it includes massage, beauty treatments, housekeeping, babysitting, and sports coaching.

Although the company is mostly active in France, it expanded to London in April 2021. Later, Vecasa expects the service to be launched in several new European markets next year. When it comes to metrics, Vecasa expects to earn $23.6 million (€20 million) this year. This will represent a three-fold increase in revenue in 2020. The platform has 150,000 Wicasa subscribers and 5,000 registered professionals registered.

Finding more partners, like many marketplaces, is the key to supporting the growth of an organization. Vecasa, for example, expects to add 3,000 more professionals by 2021. Currently, 50 people are working for this company and 30 more workers are being hired in the startup this year. This is not the only marketplace in France for home care and wellness. When it comes to landlordism, Vekasa competes with Helping, O2, Shiva, and others. When it comes to babysitting, Vekasa competes with Eojo, EoPis, and others.

Some other marketplaces also focus on one-off jobs such as fixing something broken – for example Lulu Dance Ma Ru and Stuti. While Vecasa is slowly adding new sections, it’s a smart move to make sure you’re working with the right professionals if you don’t have thousands of vertical virgins. There is still a huge market opportunity for offspring for babysitters or housekeepers – there will be space for multiple marketplaces. And Waikasa now seems to be in a good position to build a strong brand and service across multiple markets.
