Leisure means being free from all kinds of physical labor, mental conflicts, and responsibilities. It means free time with no particular activities. People spend their leisure willingly. People usually spend their leisure doing recreational actives. It does not refer to idleness or laziness but it refers to relief or relaxes for a short period from the monotony of daily routine. It is important in promoting quality of life. It gives mental satisfaction, enjoyment, and pleasure.

Leisure Period is not a non-activity but it implies an activity that is meaningful, potential, and enjoyable. Village people spend their leisure by gossiping, playing cards, hearing the radio, etc. But these actives vary from person to person, society to society and country to country. City people spend their leisure by watching T.V., cinemas, and gossiping. They play common games like cricket and football. They sometimes go to theaters, concert halls, and open places. It is for its own sake as it is a period of personal fulfillment and pleasure. On holidays, they go to their village homes to visit their relatives. Many remain busy with internet browsing. In winter, people make cakes and drink date juice. Football, ha-do-do, badminton, and volleyball are popular games at that time. It is, so to speak, freedom of monotony, boredom, and drudgery of life. Taking leisure activities, particularly outdoors, can improve one’s physical wellness.

The leisure period is necessary for people after working and studying hard, and there are various recreation activities to do base on oneself purpose. The present time is a time of automation, a better standard of living, and longevity has further broadened and liberalized the real conception of leisure. The strange and wonderful invention of science and technology has also reduced the hour of working and consequently man has now found a lot of time to enjoy leisure at his suit will. In fact, very few people are aware of making the proper utilization of leisure. Truly speaking, leisure is enjoyable in relation to one’s work. After a day’s hard and toilsome work, one needs to enjoy leisure the most. In the absence of work, no leisure can truly be conceived.

Man is under the necessity of leisure. After a tiresome work a period of leisure makes a man fresh, energetic and stimulates him to finish the unfinished work. During my leisure period, I like to travel most. So leisure removes monotony in everyday life. It gives us the energy to handle our routine based work. Thus, we should enjoy our leisure. Man cannot continue to work for all day long, He needs rest, race and leisure, for regaining energy, stimulation, and concentration for the next works. Because it helps to know the unknown and see the unseen.
