Lightspeed’s Gaurav Gupta and Grafana Labs’ Raj Dutt will tell us why they financially tied the knot (twice!)

Many founders only know how to fund their own experience and do not get to hear much of what other founders did. In Wednesday’s Extra Crunch Live, we are going to remedy this. Grafana Labs has risen over $ 75 million since it launched in 2014, according to Lightspeed venture partners and partner Gaurav Gupta, both startups in the Series A and Series B rounds. As promised, this is a great significance.

The founders and investors of the new and improved Extra Crunch Live pairing led their previous rounds on how the deal went down, from the moment they met (with some disagreements) to the relationship that exists today. Hell, we can even peek into the main pitch deck that it happened.

Then, we will return your vision to the audience. The same founder / investor pair (in this case, Raj Dutt, CEO of Grafana Labs and Gaurav Gupta of LVP) will look at your pitch decks and give their own opinion. (If you have not submitted a pitch deck to spray extra Crunch Live, you can do so here.)

The hour-long episode sandwiched in about 30-minute rounds of networking. From start to finish, it runs from 11:30 a.m. PST / 2:30 p.m. EST to 1:30 p.m. PST/4:30 p.m. EST. In addition, Extra Crunch Live will bring you new pair of speakers at the same time each week.

So learn a little more about Gupta and Dutt.

Before becoming an investor, Gupta enjoyed a rich career in product development slayers, taking positions at Elastic (where he led product management), Splunk (product VP), as well as Google, Gateway and McKenna Group. He joined Lightspeed in 2019 as a partner, primarily focusing on enterprise software. He has led investments in Impira, Blameless, Hasura and Panther and of course Grafana. He sits on the boards of the last three institutions on that list.

Dutt is the co-founder and CEO of Grafana Labs, but the fast-growing company is not his first venture into entrepreneurship. Dutt also founded and led a cloud hosting startup called Voxel, which acquired by Internap in 2012 for $30 million.

Gupta and Dutt are thrilled to be joining us in the first episode of Extra Crunch Live in 2021. We are bringing you a new pair of speakers every week, and if you cannot join us live, you will be able to catch everything you miss on-demand. It is costly for its own subscriptions, but EC members get access to our premium content, including market maps and investor surveys smarty? Smart, subscribe. You will not regret.
