Bioremediation occur without treatment or may effectively occur with the addition of fertilizers, oxygen, etc., that help encourage the growth of the pollution-eating microbes inside medium. Bioremediation is a waste management method that involves the employment of organisms to take out or neutralize pollutants from a contaminated site. Using the EPA, bioremediation can be a “treatment that employs naturally occurring organisms to break up hazardous substances in less toxic or non toxic substances”.
