Basic purpose of this lecture is to present on cause and effect of Mutation. Exogenous factors: environmental factors such as sunlight, radiation, and smoking can cause mutations. Endogenous factors: errors during DNA replication can lead to genetic changes as can toxic by-products of cellular metabolism. Here briefly present on what causes mutation: Spontaneous, Increases caused by environmental factors, UV light, X-rays, Benzene, formaldehyde, carbon tetrachloride etc. Finally focus on Harmful mutations: Cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anaemia and Disfunctional proteins.
