Microbial Biogeography

Microbial biogeography is a division of biogeography, a field that concerns the allocation of organisms across space and time. Though biogeography usually focused on plants and larger animals, current studies have broadened this field to contain allocation patterns of microorganisms. This expansion of biogeography to smaller scales—known as “microbial biogeography”—is enabled by ongoing advances in inherent technologies.
