Radiotrophic fungus are fungi which become visible to use the pigment melanin to adapt gamma radiation into chemical force for growth. This planned mechanism might be similar to anabolic pathways for the mixture of reduced organic carbon in phototrophic organisms, which imprison photons from visible light with pigments such as chlorophyll whose energy is then used in photolysis of water to generate usable chemical energy in photophosphorylation or photosynthesis.
