Biohydrogen Definition

Biohydrogen is defined as hydrogen produced biologically, most often by algae, microorganisms and archaea. Biohydrogen is a potential biofuel available from both cultivation and from waste organic materials. An important foreseeable future application of hydrogen could be as an alternative for fossil heats up, once the oil deposits are depleted. This application is however depending on the development of storage strategies to enable proper safe-keeping, distribution and combustion of hydrogen.
