Basic purpose of this lecture is to presentation on Computer Based Information System. Information system is a mix of hardware, software, structure and trained staff organized to facilitate planning, control, coordination, and decision making in an institution. Information Systems are classified in four types, this lecture describe these types with examples: transaction processing (TP), management information system (MIS), intelligent support systems (ISS) and office automation systems (OAS).
