Prostate cancer, also recognized as carcinoma of the prostate, is the growth of cancer in the prostate, a gland in the male reproductive method. The majority prostate cancers are slow rising; however, several grow relatively rapid. The cancer cells may extend from the prostate to other parts of the body, predominantly the bones and lymph nodes. It may primarily cause no symptoms.
