Nucleotide diversity is a measure of genetic variation. It is usually associated with other statistical measures involving population diversity, and is just like expected heterozygosity. This statistic is known to monitor diversity within or between ecological populations, to analyze the genetic variation in crops along with related species, in order to determine evolutionary relationships.
