The bystander effect occurs if presence of others discourages anyone from intervening in an emergency situation. The term bystander effect is the term for the phenomenon that greater the amount of people present, the more unlikely people are to aid a person throughout distress. It is a social psychological phenomenon that is the term for cases in which individuals do not offer any ways of help to some sort of victim when other people are present.
