Importance Of Faith In Life

Importance Of Faith In Life

Faith is essential in life. Nobody can ignore faith. People have faith and trust in any object, people, natural or supernatural powers, religion. Faith and belief are a natural and God gifted quality and requirement of the human. The human came in the world and living here for any definite purpose, and they have faith that by doing this, they can go ahead. They always keep a hope of faith that this thing will help him or will support him.

Actually, Faith is the original expression of the human heart. When we are born, we function through the heart, not the mind. When we start our formal education, the mind takes over and the heart component is relegated to the background, so that in the course of our life we function through the intellect, through logic. We ask, “Why?” “How?” and all these questions relate to intellectual expressions and understanding. But certain things cannot be understood or even analyzed by the faculty of intelligence, and that is the strength of the heart. The heart is always looking for support, security, compassion, love, and affection all the goodness and beauty in life. The mind can think about and aspire for good things, but it is always diverted from them. The desire remains a desire, the thought remains a thought and the aspirations can never be implemented.

There are different mentalities, different samskaras, or impressions, belonging to each civilization, each group in society. The mentality of each society depends on the social environment. If the social environment has no balance between the material drive and the spiritual aspirations, then we disconnect from the heart forces and energies. When there is disconnection from the heart forces, the mind transforms itself, becoming more gross, materialistic and sensual, more full of cravings and desires. All these cravings, desires, and ambitions lead us to seek fulfillment outside, but when we are unable to find pleasure, happiness, and fulfillment in the world, we go into a depressive cycle or an insecure cycle, an aggressive cycle, or a fearful cycle, which then controls our behavior. Our psychological and emotional imbalances disturb the family and then society becomes disturbed. Then, in order to avoid that frustration, we become addicted to something, which takes the mind away from that depression.

Faith is essential for development. Faith is a pillar of growth. If people have faith in any system, they follow the policy of that object conscientiously to fulfill the purpose of that task. Suppose if anybody has the principle that by listening to any poem or verses of any teaching of any religion, then he will seriously with great hope.

People in religious faith follow the rules of their religion because of faith. But some people or groups of people change the system and rule in the manner as per their wish. Faith is always giving hope and confidence, whether it is blind faith or religious faith.

Faith speaks the language of the heart. It is an expression of hope that goes beyond the conscious mind.

All that we hold precious rests upon faith in people, their potential not yet fulfilled. The evidence of history points us in a different direction the world is full of ugliness, brutality, and injustices. Yet there is also tenderness, kindness, and concern and that takes the bigger part of our hearts.

Without faith in ourselves, we would hold ourselves cheap, and without faith in others,, we could never live as free people. This is the water that quenches parched souls.

Faith is the quality that balances the psychological and emotional disturbances. Faith is a quality that is ingrained in a cultural mentality, and it has always been there. But when logic comes in, faith is relegated to the background, and one becomes more material in nature and loses that inner balance and harmony.

Here is a famous parable: Once a traveler came across an old woman who was stooped over what appeared to be thin sticks. He asked the woman what she was doing.

“I am planting orange trees,” she explained.

The traveler thought this was a waste of her time.

“Why do you bother?” he asked. “You are an old woman. These saplings will take years before they will be old enough to bear fruit. You will be long gone by then.”

“True enough,” she answered. “But I don’t plant these trees for myself but for those who will come after me, just as those before me planted the trees that bear the fruit that I eat today.”

People have different faith in different power from time to time. Faith depends upon their belief and understanding. Faith always plays a crucial role in our day-to-day life.
